Projects

Word Collective helps communities of believers identify and decide how to address issues in their own communities. Some believers start by implementing needed community development that offers hope and relief to people facing extreme poverty. We’re currently supporting community development programs in Ethiopia and Brazil.

Other believers decide they need to plant or strengthen churches. Word Collective supports them through storytelling trainings and ongoing relationship. Some of these trainings focus on evangelism while others help churches grow by creating sets of discipleship stories. All trainings aim to equip believers to effectively and accurately communicate God’s Word. We support ongoing church planting efforts in Ethiopia, Peru, and other Latin American countries.

While all of Word Collective’s resources and trainings are trauma-informed, some believers decide they need to explicitly address trauma. For them, we offer trainings that range from providing basic mental health coping tools to people in immediate trauma to creating long-term, self-multiplying healing groups. Currently, we’re actively providing trauma-healing training and ongoing support in the Middle East, East Africa, North Africa, the United States, Ukraine, and Latin America.

For many believers, even if they have a strong church in their communities, that church may not have access to scripture in its congregation’s language. For these believers, Word Collective develops accessible resources that allow communities to translate the Bible into their own languages. Over 500 Bible translation teams are currently using translation resources developed by Word Collective staff.
