Jenny Storey

Jenny Storey currently resides in Iowa, though she spent most of her life in Oregon. A lifelong believer, she views her life as a continuous ministry, shaped by deep involvement in local church communities wherever she has lived. Over the years, Jenny has faithfully served in ministries focused on children, women, and the Deaf. Today, she helps encourage and develop leaders for her church’s ASL Bible Study group and supports ASL Worship during Sunday services.

Jenny holds a Master’s degree in Deaf Education and has several years of experience teaching deaf students from fourth grade through high school in both New York City and California. She is currently pursuing a Certificate in Sign Language Linguistics to deepen her expertise. Since 2023, she has served as a CBBT (Chronological Bible-Based Translation) Trainer, working with sign language Bible translation teams in Liberia, Azerbaijan, Benin, and Trinidad & Tobago.

Married to her husband Chris for 29 years, Jenny is the proud mother of four—two daughters and two sons, ranging in age from 17 to 24. The Storey family enjoys adventurous road trips, including a recent 8,000-mile journey across the U.S. in just three weeks.

Looking ahead, Jenny will continue her work with CBBT trainings and contribute to the development of curriculum and resources that better equip Deaf translation teams around the world. She is excited to support the mission of Word Collective and looks forward to new opportunities to serve global Deaf communities.
